Quinn Turns SEVEN

Quinn Porter McNames. What a boy! This is such an important next year for Quinn as he's preparing for Baptism, and a time in his life that I never want to forget. Such a bright mind combined with a tender heart.
I love the way Quinn is growing and maturing.

His passion for music and bow ties continues. The tooth fairy has been to visit him a lot lately. He's caught the reading bug and blows us away with his Mad Math skills!

Quinn I love being your Mom! I love that you get along with everyone and make friends so easily. I love your deep chocolate eyes. I love how red your ears get when you're hot, just like your Dad's. I love that you are willing to try anything at least once. Your courage is an incredible example to your younger and older siblings. Let that audible soundtrack in your mind keep playing on!!!

After seeing the girls room makeover, Quinn knew exactly what he wanted for his birthday.....
A Lego Room!
It worked out in our favor again that the two boys that are sharing a room have their birthdays in the same month. Karoline, Karli and Joe deserve huge props for this one. We literally pulled an "all nighter" to finish in time for the unveiling. Again, my weak photography skills aren't going to do this cute room justice.

Joe found these hilarious prints that we framed.
It's amazing how a few mouse pads strategically placed and some high gloss paint can make a wall resemble an over sized Lego brick. So fun! The contact cement we used to attach them..... not so fun.

A huge thanks to Nana for sewing this cute panel with the transparent pockets.

Oh yes.... those are solid chocolate Lego bricks!

Townes Turns One

Slightly apprehensive...... looking to Mom for the green light.
"Pinch me .... am I dreaming?"
"Oh ya! This is happening!!!"
Life is good.

Merry Christmas 2012

Remlinger Farm

Right down the road from us is the beautiful Remlinger Farms. This is going to have to be a fall family tradition for sure! It was extra fun spending the day with our good friends the Scoffields. (Stella still claims that she knows some day she's going to marry Ronin.)

I was able to do a really fun farm unit in the two weeks leading up to our family farm adventure. I'll post some of those cute farm projects later, but it culminated with these cute pig cupcakes. Stella could not have been more proud to pull these out at the end of the day!

Fall 2012

Late afternoon walks in the wagon....

More Preschool projects......
Halloween.... Joey and Audrey made an awesome pair from the 1920's!

But Quinn and Stella gave them a run for their money as the adorable duo Woody and Jessie!

Since we now live in the ultimate trick-or-treating neighborhood, Maddy came over to benefit from the huge "haul". She was a fancy princess.... very cute as usual!
This is what Stella looked like at 8:45 pm that night.
Townes just chilled with Nana and Grandpa at the house handing out candy,
he made a pretty darn cute bat though.
It wouldn't be a holiday around here with out themed cookies....
These "pipe-n-fill" did the trick!

October 2012

Some of my 'on the side' projects of late have been Baby shower treats....

More Preschool....... Good Times!

Here are some projects Stella and I have been doing in Preschool. Most of them I found on legit preschool websites and blogs. I wish I had time to give credit for the ideas and put in links, but you can see by the frequency or should I say infrequency of my posts that time is one thing I don't have. We modified several of these ideas too.

Daily Weather- Teller:

Melted Crayon Sun Catcher:

Confetti Rainy Window:

Rain Stick:

She randomly hammered about 30 nails into this packaging tube, poured in some popcorn kernels and then decorated the outside with felt, feathers foam and glitter. It sounds awesome when you turn it over!

Rainbow Collection Collage

First we went on a "Rainbow Treasure Hunt" to collect things for our collage. I tried to be really open minded about letting her attach anything she wanted, and only gave her size and color boundaries. The stuff she found was hilarious! (Everything from ear plugs to Barbie shoes.)

Salt Dough Hand and Foot Imprints

I made this simple recipe so that Stella could make this Salt Dough all by herself,
and learn how to follow a recipe/ directions.  Salt Dough is great for all kinds of projects!

After she put her hand and foot prints in the dough I made two holes in each, we baked and then she painted  them. I added a glossy coat to seal it and some ribbon through the holes to hang them on the wall. Finished product was so cute! There was extra dough, so I let Stella make her own idea for a sculpture, she pulled out a bunch of plastic beads and 'went to town.'

Raspberry Cupcakes

We did a '5 senses' unit and this was our 'taste' project. She was so proud!
